Hood Warfare 2 Troubleshooting: Fix ImpossibleRpc Kick, Level Reset & Voice Chat

Update to patch 1.0.1.4 first: the October 14 official notes list false anti-cheat kick, no-audio, joining and crash fixes. Then work through the matching checks below. File verification and changing hosts are troubleshooting steps; they do not guarantee a fix or restore lost progression.

Confirm the latest patch before changing settings

  1. Check the version in the bottom-right corner of the main menu. The latest patch reviewed here is 1.0.1.4, announced October 14, 2026.
  2. If Steam does not offer the update, fully exit Steam through its top-left menu and start it again. This is the update step given by Trapstar Games.
  3. Read patch 1.0.1.4 for the official fix list. Version 1.0.10 introduced anti-cheat and voice chat; it is not the newest reviewed patch.

ImpossibleRpc and false cheat-protection kicks

Players reported ImpossibleRpc kicks after 1.0.10. Patch 1.0.1.4 explicitly says it fixed kicks by cheat protection. The developer's announcement does not confirm that every ImpossibleRpc report had the same latency or Easy Anti-Cheat cause.

  1. Update and restart the game first. Keep Easy Anti-Cheat enabled.
  2. In Steam, open the game's Properties → Installed Files → Verify integrity of game files. Verification checks the installation; it is not proof that EAC caused your error.
  3. If a kick repeats, try a different lower-latency lobby or host a password-only match. This isolates host/network conditions as a workaround, not a guaranteed cure.
  4. Record the error, game version, mode and whether it occurs as host or guest, then include those details in a developer support report.

Level reset or previously unlocked guns becoming locked

Community discussions describe level and unlock inconsistencies. A progression display changing after a match is not enough to identify a damaged save, and the patch notes do not promise restoration of every affected account.

  1. Allow the match to finish and its results to settle before leaving.
  2. Restart the game and check both your Reputation level and loadout menu.
  3. A short completed bot match is a community workaround for refreshing progression display. It has no confirmed guarantee of restoring a lost level or unlock.
  4. If the issue persists, preserve screenshots of the earlier level and current locked item. Report the account, patch version and match conditions rather than deleting save data.

Microphone, team voice and proximity-chat checks

Patch 1.0.10 added lobby and team voice. Push-to-talk defaults to T, and open mic is available in settings. Patch 1.0.1.4 also addresses no audio. Do not assume a voice range or proximity behavior that is not specified by the official notes.

  1. Confirm voice chat is enabled and press T while push-to-talk is active; review any custom key binding.
  2. Press Win + R, enter mmsys.cpl, and check the Recording tab. Choose your microphone as the default device and default communications device, then inspect its levels.
  3. In Windows microphone privacy settings, enable microphone access and permission for desktop apps. Confirm that Windows itself detects your voice.
  4. Check in-game input/output choices and Windows output. After changing the default device, restart the game and test in a lobby with a friend.

Crashes, audio and joining friends

The October 14 notes list crash and join fixes, and recommend adjusting Windows volume if audio remains absent. Use the PC troubleshooting guide for the developer's original steps, audio checks and a reproducible settings baseline.

For friends-only play, use a password-only private lobby added in 1.0.1.4. If a failure repeats after updating, record whether all players are on the same version and which player hosts.
