FAQ

Hood Warfare 2 Controller Support and Steam Deck

On this page

Does Hood Warfare 2 support controllers?

Yes. The Steam store lists Full controller support. Steam uses that label for games that can be played and navigated with a controller, menus included.

The listing marks Xbox controllers as fully supported and does not list PlayStation controllers. It publishes no button layout and does not mention aim assist. One Steam reviewer reports being unable to bind a run button on a controller. Check the input menu in the game for the current bindings; the settings guide explains how to compare one change at a time.

Controller support describes an input device on PC. It is not a console release: the PS5 and Xbox status page covers that question.

Does Hood Warfare 2 work on Steam Deck?

It is unrated. Steam’s Deck compatibility report for app 5155360 returned no category on October 13, 2026, which means Valve has not yet marked the game Verified, Playable or Unsupported.

Two Steam reviewers have tried it. One said it ran on a Deck before patch 1.0.10, at a resolution they recalled as 1920×1080. The other, writing an hour after the patch, said the new anti-cheat stopped the game from starting on their Deck. No review after the patch reports it working.

If you want to try it, Steam’s standard refund terms cover purchases refunded within 14 days and with under two hours played. Launch the game and join a match early in that window.

Which anti-cheat does Hood Warfare 2 use?

The Steam store page states that the game uses kernel-level anti-cheat and names Easy Anti-Cheat. Trapstar Games added anti-cheat in patch 1.0.10 on October 12, and asks players to use Report in the pause menu when they see a cheater.

This matters outside Windows. Valve’s Steamworks documentation says Proton, the compatibility layer used by Steam Deck and Linux, supports Easy Anti-Cheat only when the developer enables it for their build. Neither the store page nor the patch notes say whether Trapstar Games has done so.

For what else that update changed, read the patch 1.0.10 breakdown.

Can you play on Linux or a Mac?

Steam lists Windows as the only platform, and the published requirements name Windows 10 or Windows 11 with DirectX 12. There is no native Linux or macOS build.

Running the Windows build through a compatibility layer depends on the anti-cheat question above, and no official source confirms it works. A Windows PC that meets the system requirements is the confirmed route.

What is still unconfirmed?

None of these appear in the Steam listing or the developer’s announcements up to October 13, 2026.

  • Whether aim assist exists for controllers.
  • The default controller layout and whether it can be remapped.
  • Whether Easy Anti-Cheat is enabled for Proton.
  • A Valve Steam Deck rating.
